Emma Watson

So amazing… Why am I writing about her?  She is one of my favorite role models.   Yes, I’m a grown woman as well as a mother and have probably been through a lot more “real-life” scenarios than she has, but that’s not what determines a role model for me.  A role model is someone who inspires you and leaves an impression that will ultimately affect your view on life as well as yourself while giving you a nudge of some sort towards your personal destiny.  Age is truly just a number.   I’m always intrigued by the view point of those younger than me because they haven’t lived long enough for life and those around them to tell them no.  They are still fresh with the innocence of possibilities.

The amazing English actress, Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born on April 15, 1990 in the lovely city of Paris.  At the age of 6, she decided that she wanted to be an actress.  So she set out to do just that by attending Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre ArtsWhile there she studied acting, singing and dancing (talk about a triple threat). By the age of 10 she not only had performed in a few of the Stagecoach productions, but she was cast as HermioneGranger in the Harry Potter film series. So what have we learned so far? We learned that a 6 year old, decided what she wanted to do with her life, and in 3 years made it happen.  True, she may have had a little more financial help than the rest of us, but in the end it was still her decision and steady dedication towards her goal that made it happen.

By 2007, at the age of 17, she made so much money with the Harry Potter series that she would never have to work again.  Did she stop after that?  Nope.  She finished out the series, as well as worked on other productions at the same time, such as 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower'.  She also was the voice of The Princess and the Pea in the animated film The Tale of Despereaux, appeared in the music video for One Night Only, was the face for Burberry's Autumn/Winter 2009 and 2010 Spring/Summer campaigns, and in March of 2011 was chosen as the face for Lancôme. She is currently on the October 2012 Glamour Cover for both US and UK.

So at the age of 22, she has not only accomplished her dream goal at the age of 9, but has also created an amazing legacy for any children that she may decide to have in the future, won multiple awards, set the record for being the youngest ever on the cover of Teen Vogue, and expanded her portfolio to not only include acting but modeling as well.  But the most amazing thing is that she did it with her virtue and integrity as a lady intact.   She’s a force to be reckoned with and an amazing encouragement to me as an alpha female (powerhouse).  I’ve always said that I want what I want, when I want, the way I want, and I will get it.  It’s nice to know that I’m not the only woman out there with that type of mentality and drive.  And I may not have accomplished my big goal, but I have accomplished one of my little ones which happen to be this blog.

Blessed Be
